Several warmup performances have recently been staged in Baoshan for the 10th Shanghai Baoshan International Folk Arts Festival, which will be held in October.

This year the festival will try to build a brand system at different layers and in larger scale so as to expand the channel for international cooperation in folk art as well as to contribute to Shanghai’s efforts in developing its cultural projects.

Starting from 1995 as an annual event, Shanghai Baoshan International Folk Arts Festival aims to bring folk arts from all over the world to local people.

Over the years it has attracted more than 3,000 artists of 120 folk art groups from 50 countries, presenting shows to more than 2.5 million spectators.

The festival has joined people of different races and cultural backgrounds to rejoice in art. It has also been commented as the world’s most exceptional folk art festival by an official of International Organization of Folk Art.
