On October 18th, a grand event with the theme of “Xingzhi Road Facing the Future” commemorating the 130th anniversary of Mr. Tao Xingzhi’s birth was held in Shanghai Xingzhi Experimental Middle School where the Xingzhi Yucai Old School was located. Weng Tiehui, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, attended the event. On behalf of the Ministry of Education, she put forward four points of hopes on how to inherit and carry forward Mr. Tao Xingzhi’s thoughts on education in the new era. The first point was to explore the story of Mr. Tao Xingzhi’s unremitting efforts and enrich the education resources of the “ideological and political education course”. The second was to carry forward Mr. Tao’s lofty spirit to enhance the ideological level of teachers in educating students. The third was to develop Mr. Tao’s thoughts on education to complete the theory of educating people with Chinese characteristics. The last one was to deepen Mr. Tao’s educational practice to promote to form a scientific education mechanism model.
