First Shanghai International Cruise Festival Kicks off on August 2nd with Mascot "Ubao"
On the morning of July 31st, the Information Office of the Municipal Government held a press conference. Zhu Min, Director of the Municipal Commission of Commerce, introduced the overall arrangement of the Shanghai International Cruise Festival. Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal is already the largest cruise home port in Asia and the fourth largest in the world. Last May, Shanghai took the lead in resuming international cruise operations on a trial basis nationwide. With the support of a series of national policies, the development of Shanghai's international cruise economy has shown good momentum. Summer vacation is the peak season for global tourism and vacation and the operation of Shanghai's cruise home port. In August, Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal is scheduled to operate more than 30 voyages. In order to better demonstrate the vitality of Shanghai's international cruise economy and favorable business environment, in accordance with the deployment of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the Municipal Commission of Commerce, together with relevant municipal departments and districts, will jointly hold the First Shanghai International Cruise Festival as one of the seven benchmark activities during the First "Shanghai Summer" International Consumption Season. The First Shanghai International Cruise Festival will start on August 2nd and last until August 31st. Event overview Focusing on cruise characteristics, the First Shanghai International Cruise Festival links key business districts across the city, mobilizes a wide range of market entities, adopts a market-oriented approach, and launches the "Hand in Hand" cruise-themed activities, further showcasing the unique charm of cruises and promoting the deep integration of the cruise economy and cruise culture. 1. "Enjoy China" Shanghai-style Cruise Style Show at the Old Whar Jointly launched by the Old Wharf and Huaxia International Cruise, it will feature activities such as cruise ship model displays, the exhibition of Shanghai-style culture on the cruise ship and works by Wu Changshuo on his 180th birthday, and the food fair of the cruise festival. The event will start on August 2nd and last until August 31st. 2. Cruise Sports Carnival The event will be held from August 2nd to 6th, jointly launched by the Municipal Administration of Sports and Huaxia International Cruise. On the cruise ship "Gulangyu", the "Martial Arts on the Sea" record-breaking event will be held, as well as a series of activities such as the grand martial arts performance and the science and health lecture. 3. Joyful Liuhe: Envisioning the Blue Dream Jointly launched by Bailian Group, Blue Dream Cruises, Huaxia International Cruise and China Maritime Museum, a theme market event featuring cruise route promotion, cultural and creative exhibition of China Maritime Museum and cruise food experience will be launched at Liuhe Road on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The event will be held from August 9th to 11th. 4. Bright Pearl: CSSC Chasing Dreams in the New Blue Ocean Jointly launched by the Shanghai Services Federation and CSSC Cruise, the event will start on August 10th and last until the 19th. Royal Cruise "Global Tour" Experience Week Jointly launched by Yuexing Global Harbor and Royal Caribbean Cruises, the event will start on August 16th and last until August 31st. Royal Caribbean Cruises, Adora Cruises and China Merchants Viking Cruises will hold activities such as parent-child experiences and piano performance interactions. Relying on its own event resources, Global Harbor will hold activities such as check-ins at special cruise devices, cruise micro-exhibition, international cruise culture exhibition and cruise surfing carnival. 6. Cruise Open Day Static tour activities will be organized during the berthing period of "Gulangyu", "Adora Magic City" and "MSC Bellissima". On August 10th, the launching ceremony of the First Shanghai International Cruise Festival will be held on the platform along the river of Baoshan Sea World. The ceremony will introduce cruise policies, cruise routes, new "Cruise+" products, etc. Logo and Mascot To enhance the global recognition of the activities during the First Shanghai International Cruise Festival, and increase their influence and brand awareness, an open call for the event logo and mascot was launched to the public and received extensive participation and strong support from all sectors of life. After strict selection, both the logo and mascot have been determined as follows: 01. Logo With the abbreviation "SICF" of the "Shanghai International Cruise Festival" as its centerpiece, the logo perfectly integrates the Oriental Pearl Tower with the moving cruise ship, waves and the white magnolia, the flower of Shanghai, showing the vibrant festival tourism atmosphere and the vivid visual impression of the Shanghai International Cruise Festival. 02. Mascot The mascot is called "Ubao", a baby dolphin holding a white magnolia. The combination of the white magnolia and the dolphin represents the deep integration of Shanghai's regional characteristics, cultural heritage and marine culture, and also reflects the development vision of promoting the interaction between the cruise economy and people's lives as well as the coexistence of urban culture and cruise culture through the events. In one more day, two events of the First Shanghai International Cruise Festival will kick off.
