February 18, the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday, coincided with the upcoming 12th commercial voyage of the Adora Magic City cruise ship. Li Chenhao, Secretary of the CPC Baoshan District Committee, led a team to visit and express gratitude to the port joint inspection unit at the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal. The team thanked the staff for their contributions to ensuring the safety of port control and smooth customs clearance during the Spring Festival holiday and extended New Year greetings and blessings. Xue Sasa, Deputy Governor of Baoshan District, was among the team.

In the terminal building, Li Chenhao and his team were briefed on the safety control and customs clearance inspection at the cruise terminal during the holiday and extended heartfelt thanks and festive greetings to the employees of the port joint inspection unit who stayed on their posts.

Li Chenhao said that the cruise industry is a showcase for Baoshan’s development. At present, Baoshan is mobilizing all its resources and pooling wisdom from all parties to promote the high-quality development of the cruise economy. As an essential part of the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, the port joint inspection unit played a crucial role during the Spring Festival holiday. The employees of the unit gave up the chance for a family reunion and stuck to the front line, demonstrating responsibility and dedication to their work and contributing significantly to the development of Baoshan’s cruise economy. He hoped that in the future, everyone would continue to focus on the overall economic and social development of Baoshan, strengthen unity and cooperation, make every effort to create an environment for safe, smooth and efficient customs clearance, and build a first-class port joint inspection unit that provides more convenient, intimate and satisfactory services for the public, thereby enhancing the reputation of Baoshan’s cruise tourism industry.

Measuring 323.6 meters in length with a gross tonnage of 135,500, Adora Magic City can accommodate up to 5,246 passengers in 2,125 guest rooms. By combining the concepts of “modern”, “magic” and “miracle”, Adora Magic City reflects infinite ingenuity and innovation, revealing the trendy side of Shanghai as the “capital of cruise liners”, the innovative glamor of its classic culture, and a cross-industry integration of Eastern and Western cultures and tourism elements. It aims to offer a unique and immersive cruise experience featuring gourmet food, entertaining shows, trendy shopping areas, and innovative spaces.

It is learned that this year, the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal will experience a full year of operation, with 160 voyages in total. Among them, 153 voyages will be operated by Adora Magic City, MSC Bellissima and Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas and there will be seven voyages with cruise ships visiting the cruise terminal. It is estimated that nearly 1.4 million tourists will enter and exit Baoshan throughout the year. Moreover, MSC Bellissima and Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas will soon start homeport operations in Baoshan.
