At the Shanghai Global Investment Promotion Conference 2022 held on June 16, the third batch of 13 characteristic industrial parks in Shanghai was officially launched, focusing on the development bearing areas of the "new track". Baoshan District “Nanda Digital Smart City” Industrial Park and Baowu (Shanghai) Carbon Neutrality Industrial Park are on the list.

“Nanda Digital Smart City” Industrial Park

Relying on industrial clusters such as ChinaSoft and Tencent, the characteristic industrial park of “Nanda Digital Smart City” focuses on the development of advanced new economic industries, and builds a benchmark leading area for digital industries and a pioneering demonstration area for digital cities.

The park covers an area of 110 hectares and has an industrial bearing area of 1.32 million square meters. It is jointly built by Baoshan District Government and Lingang Group through the mode of "district cooperation and brand linkage". The park focuses on the fields of “smart energy and smart driving” and emerging industries such as “software services, chip design, and artificial intelligence”, makes every effort to build a forward-looking and distinctive digital economy industrial cluster, aims at the core links of the industrial chain and the high-end areas of the value chain, strengthens the empowerment of science and technology services, and accelerates the introduction and cultivation of a number of high-quality projects and leading enterprises with strong science and technology innovation capabilities, high economic benefits, and great development potential.

The park focuses on the “digital economy”, introduces software service enterprises represented by ChinaSoft International and Softcom Software, chip design enterprises represented by Intchains, and artificial intelligence enterprises represented by Pegasus and Banma, forms an industrial cluster in the fields of smart energy and smart driving, creates a service system of “science and technology + science investment, fund + base, platform + talents, industry + ecology, innovation + scene”, and constructs a scientific and technological innovation ecology of "integration of four sections" of urban blocks, industrial parks, university campuses and science, and technology communities.

Baowu (Shanghai) Carbon Neutrality Industrial Park

Adhering to the concept of “Plant—Park—Urban District”, the park focuses on the development of new materials, intelligent manufacturing, new energy, and circular economy to build a green and low-carbon industrial demonstration park.

Baowu (Shanghai) Carbon Neutrality Industrial Park consists of two large Baowu transformation plots: the peripheral area of Baoshan Iron & Steel in the north and the special steel pioneering area of Wusong Innovation City in the south. The planned total area is 2.14 square kilometers, of which the total construction area of the first project is about 650,000 square meters. It is the first core industrial park in Shanghai featuring green and low-carbon innovation and industrial development, and it is also an important bearing area for Baoshan District to build the "main position of science and technology innovation center".

Complying with the “double carbon” strategy, relying on the comprehensive advantages of China Baowu “ecological circle”, such as industrial base and head enterprises, and based on the development of new materials, intelligent manufacturing, new energy, circular economy and other competitive industries, the park aims to gather global “double-carbon” innovation resources and high-end talents, create a highland for the development of green and low-carbon related characteristic industries, and the best application scenario of “hard core” achievements, promote the “Northern Transformation” of Baoshan old industrial base, and become a demonstration area for advancing the development of green and low-carbon related industries and regional transformation and upgrading in the Yangtze River Delta region and even the whole country.

Baoshan has a vast space for the development of science and technology. Besides the “Nanda Digital Smart City” Industrial Park and Baowu (Shanghai) Carbon Neutrality Industrial Park, there are three municipal-level characteristic industrial parks in Baoshan District: the Shanghai Industrial Park of Robotics, the Super Science and Innovation Park (New Material), and the North Shanghai Biomedical Industrial Park. Baoshan is witnessing a hopeful future and vital development with its substantial industrial basis, abundant industrial resources, and first-class business environment.

Building characteristic industrial parks is an important starting point for Baoshan District to speed up the construction of the “main position of science and technology innovation center” and promote high-quality industrial development. At present, the district will continue to promote the high-quality development of characteristic industrial parks from three aspects: activating stock, increasing increment, and innovating variables, so as to inject vigorous power into the construction of the “main position of science and technology innovation center” and activate the "new engine" of high-quality development.
