On December 10, as the first global museum research and exchange center, the establishment ceremony of the International Museum Research and Exchange Centre of International Council of Museums (ICOM-IMREC) was held in Shanghai University.Guan Qiang, deputy director of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, Cheng Danhong, chief of the Party committee of Shanghai University, Liu Changsheng, president of Shanghai University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Shuguang, director-in-general of Chinese Museums Association, An Laishun, vice chairman of the International Council of Museums, Chu Xiaobo, deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, and Jin Ruiguo, deputy chief of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, jointly unveiled ICOM-IMREC.

Liu Changshengsaid in his speech that building ICOM-IMREC is an important measure taken by Shanghai University in recent years to promote personnel training and internationalization of scientific research in the field of museology. It requires the efforts of various museums, universities and scientific research institutes to jointly build ICOM-IMREC into an internationally renowned platform of training high-end museumtalents and academic research.

Alberto Landini, president of ICOM, was unable to attend the ceremony because of the epidemic. On behalf of ICOM, he congratulated ICOM-IMREC for the establishment by video, and expressed his confidence thatICOM would work together with Shanghai University to serve worldwide museums.

Meanwhile, the School of Arts of Shanghai University signed a contract with Shanghai Economic Management Center and Shanghai University MBA Center. At the donation ceremony of "Shanghai University Education Development Foundation - International Culture and Museum Education Fund", Gong Siyi, deputy chief of the Party committee and vice president of Shanghai University, introduced the current fund preparation of ICOM-IMREC.

ICOM-IMREC is an international museum academic research and business exchange platform jointly built by Shanghai University and ICOMin museum-related fields.It aims to develop and build international museum think tanks and academic networks, carry out cross-regional and interdisciplinary research on common topics in museum field, promote the museum discipline construction worldwide, and publish industry analysis data and strategic research reports. Meanwhile, relying on the high-quality academic resources of ICOM and the characteristic teaching and research force of Shanghai University, ICOM-IMREC carries out academic education for young leaders of museums at home and abroad, provides module courses for museum managers' leadership construction, and shares the advanced theoretical and practical research results of museums and related fields.
