On the morning of November 24, the 2020 National Commendation Conference for Model Workers and Advanced Workers was held in Beijing. Xu Hong, a national model worker in Baoshan District, and Fang Hongmei, a national advanced worker, accepted the honors conferred by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.

Zhang Yi, deputy chief of the Baoshan District Party Committee, and Ni Qianlong, Deputy Governor of Baoshan District, welcomed two national model workers and advanced workers who came back with high reputation in the Baoshan Model Worker's Demeanor Museum on the morning of November 25. On behalf of the CPC district committee and the district government, Zhang and Ni extended congratulations and sent flowers to them.

At the symposium, Zhang Yi hoped that they would maintain the sense of honor, pride and responsibility, keep the quality of advanced workers, take the lead in learning and implementing the spirit of the commendation conference, set off a new climax of carrying forward the spirit of model workers, and make new achievements in practice.

Xu Hong said: "Growing and achieving in struggle. The honor not only belongs to me, but also belongs to all walks of life in Baoshan District. I will cherish the honor and continue to work hard!"

Fang Hongmei said: "I felt a kind of glory when the bus we took passed Chang'an Avenue and drove into the Tian'anmen Square. With the belief of advocating labor and praising innovation, I will continue to progress with the honor and work hard in return of the love from the Party and the country."

On the evening of November 24, Wang Liyan, vice chair of the standing committee of the district people's congress as well as chief of the Party group and chairman of the district federation of trade unions welcomed in Shanghai Workers' Sanatorium Xu Hong and Fang Hongmei who came back from Beijing.

Over the past 32 years, Fang Hongmei has devoted a lot of passion and painstaking efforts to the career of preschool education, and she has cultivated a lot of talents, created the education brand, and harvested educational achievements. She has always been concerned about children's development needs. As a kindergarten’s head, she is still in the teaching post and teaches practical lessons in person. In addition, she combines her own advantages with the characteristics of the kindergarten. The "Practical Research on Music Activities of Comprehensive Kindergartens" won the first prize of the National Innovation Education Achievement and the second prize of Shanghai Basic Education Teaching Achievement. The school-running thought that literature endows children with great mind, great care and great vision put forward by her and the related influential literature characteristic course have been selected into the national kindergarten characteristic courses.

In the forms including tutor's teaching, kindergarten principal's lecture and kindergarten principal's appointment, she leads teachers to constantly study innovative teaching. More than 10 trainees of the "Fang Hongmei Preschool Music Education Research Studio" led by her have become the training objects of famous teachers in Shanghai, regional chief teachers and academic leaders. Many trainees and research achievements have won awards in Shanghai and the country. Besides, the studio has been entitled the Labor Model Studio of the Shanghai Education System.

Over the past decade, Xu Hong and her team have served for over 2,200 large-scale international cruise times, and received more than 13 million domestic and foreign tourists, making contribution to turning Wusongkou International Cruise Port into the busiest and most influential international cruise port in Asia. As a deputy to the municipal people's congress, she actively offered suggestions on issues such as 72-hour Visa-free Policy for Cruise Passengers, Emergency Response to Cruise Tourism Disputes and Improvement of Supporting Facilities around Cruise Ports and Construction of Smart Ports. In the team, she actively carried out research projects, continuously improved the quality of port reception service and perfected the emergency crisis handling procedures. She has accumulated abundant on-site experience in the normalization and efficient operation of ports and multi-vessel berthing operation, and she has innovated more than 20 management methods and service measures in practice, providing a demonstration and reference for the operation and management of cruise ports in China. She cares for and involves into staffs, and promotes the "warm heart project" to stimulate their enthusiasm. Besides, she always takes the exemplary role of Party member. Facing the sudden COVID-19 epidemic, she bravely shouldered the heavy burden and led the team to work through 9 days and nights, creating a miracle of "zero input", "zero infection" and "zero output" in over 30,000 passengers and 10,000 crew members.

In recent years, Baoshan's economy and society have developed steadily. In this process, a number of advanced model figures with outstanding contributions have emerged among vast workers. The meeting requires each model worker to shoulder the important task of relaying and implementing the spirit of the conference, accurately grasp the new expectations and requirements of the Party for the employees, think deeply according to the actual situation, and play a more active role in blazing the trail, guiding and demonstrating, and making breakthroughs. The model workers were expected to lead staffs to contribute more for the development of Baoshan and Shanghai.
