On March 27, over 50 diplomatic envoys and expatriates from nearly 30 countries participated in the “Discover Shanghai: Baoshan Tour” event. Guests explored the Shanghai Ceramic S&T Art Museum and Gucun Park. They explored the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese culture, admired the vibrant cherry blossoms in springtime, and immersed themselves in Baoshan’s transformative development to better appreciate its new achievements.The event was attended by distinguished guests includingZhang Xiaosong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPPCC and Director of the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Yang Jinsong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPPCC and Executive Deputy Director of the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Kong Rong, Full-time Deputy Director of the CPPCC Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Liu Guangyong, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Foreign Affairs Office; Deng Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of Baoshan District Party Committee and Governor of Baoshan District; Ling Huikang, Chairman of the CPPCCBaoshan District Committee; and Zhang Xiaojing, Vice Chairwoman of the CPPCC Baoshan District Committee.

Consul General Spasov of the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Shanghai stated that Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and Shanghai have been sister cities since 2016. They have continuously deepened practical cooperation in education, culture, sports, and tourism, achieving a series of fruitful outcomes. Through today’s event, he profoundly experienced the remarkable development highlights of Baoshan District, which integrates industry, innovation, education, and leisure into a cohesive whole, creating a development environment that attracts both nearby and distant talents. He also expressed anticipation for further promoting exchanges and cooperation between Sofia and Baoshan District in the future.

Deng Xiaodong stated that Baoshan, located at the confluence of three rivers, has possessed an inherent openness since ancient times. In Shanghai’s new phase of development, Baoshan assumes an even more significant mission and will always maintain friendly and cooperative relations with friends around the world. He extended a sincere invitation to international friends for comprehensive, multi-dimensional, and in-depth exchanges and cooperation with Baoshan. At the Shanghai Ceramic S&T Art Museum, the group immersed themselves in the rich legacy and innovation of China’s millennia-old ceramic tradition. They listened to a compelling account of how the district’s CPPCC helped facilitate the museum’s relocation and transformation, admired the diverse ceramic exhibits, and even took part in a hands-on ceramic painting workshop. Later, at Gucun Park, they enjoyed a distinctive nighttime cherry blossom viewing. Here, specially curated light installations perfectly complemented the blooming cherry trees, creating a dreamlike, immersive experience where light, shadow, and floral fragrance intertwined seamlessly.
