At present, Baoshan, a place with access to rivers and seas, is fully promoting the "Northward Transformation" in accordance with the overall plan of Greater Wusong as "the confluence of three rivers and the gateway to Shanghai". It is comprehensively building the Shanghai International Cruise Tourism Resort with international cruise characteristics and high visibility as a maritime gateway, providing global visitors with a cruise tourism experience of "pleasing locals and attracting visitors from afar, and sharing with both hosts and guests". It is building a new pattern of coordinated development of ships, ports and districts in cruise tourism consumption.

Throughout 2024, the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal plans to berth about 207 cruise ships (including 5 port calls), accounting for more than 50% of the national total. It is expected to receive about 1.5 million inbound and outbound passengers, accounting for more than 70% of the national total. As of July 31^st, the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal has operated a total of 94 voyages and received 736,500 passengers.

At the launching ceremony, it was learned that in the future, the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal will continue to attract large luxury cruise ships from around the world to berth, develop high-end boutique routes for departure ports of cruise ships, increase port-of-call routes, enrich and extend Southeast Asian routes and even global routes, and promote the establishment of mutual home port routes and multi-point port-of-call routes. At the same time, it will continuously improve the cruise ticketing system, cruise terminal facilities and equipment and the transportation organization system around the cruise terminal, enhance the supervision and service level of the cruise terminal, optimize the passenger clearance and service processes, optimize crew services, promote the efficient operation of the cruise home port, and consolidate its position as the largest cruise home port in Asia.

The Shanghai Sea World project, where the launching ceremony was held, is facing the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal across water. Before this year's National Day Golden Week, China's first cruise-themed light cultural tourism and vacation destination will grandly open here. Cordis Shanghai will be the first riverside five-star hotel in Baoshan adjacent to the cruise terminal. China's first vacation-themed CM+ Serviced Apartment has designed a series of "ocean wonders" inspired by island miracles and will provide diversified themed spaces. In addition, business forms such as surfing, skateboarding, diving, rock climbing, and archery will provide a one-stop trendy sports experience platform; a diverse selection of cuisine will satisfy the discerning palates of diners; the outdoor square will be home to a unpowered children's playground and a public bazaar.

The Long Beach Music Hall, with acoustic design led by internationally renowned acoustics experts and capable of hosting the highest-standard performances of a triple-choir symphony orchestra, will also hold its premiere during this National Day holiday as a tribute to the 75^th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. At the same time, before the National Day, the riverside in Baoshan will be further renovated and upgraded. This includes the addition and renovation of leisure cycling paths and the construction of supporting facilities, thereby creating "the most beautiful leisure cycling route along the Yangtze River in Shanghai".

Since this year, the Shanghai International Cruise Tourism Resort has promoted the Baoshan cruise culture brand through activities such as sailing races, port concerts, drone shows, fireworks shows, welcome ceremonies for port-of-call cruise ships, and maiden voyage ceremonies of home port cruise ships.

During the National Day holiday, the Shanghai International Cruise Tourism Resort will carry out a series of wonderful activities. From October 3^rd to 6^th, the 2024 F1H20 World Championship Grand Prix of China will kick off passionately at the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal. At that time, more than 300 contestants and international friends from more than 30 countries around the world will gather in Baoshan to showcase their thrilling speed and passion on water.
