What is shown below in the picture is the Leye Loft Creative Center in Gaojing Town, Baoshan District. Formerly cluttered with scattered dry bulk goods that hindered traffic flow, this area is now been beautifully transformed into a vibrant “neighborhood center” ideal for leisure and sports activities in the urban renewal process.

The Leye Loft Creative Center, situated at the southern end of Tonghe Road, is a comprehensive project spanning 26,031 square meters. It seamlessly integrates sports, culture and office spaces. The sports area alone takes about 10,000 square meters, offering a wide variety of activities including fencing, table tennis, Go, martial arts, football, basketball, billiards, sports dance, rock climbing, and youth parkour.

Since its inauguration in 2017, the Center has remained accessible to the public year-round, attracting an annual footfall of 360,000 visitors. Additionally, it has hosted notable sports events including the inaugural “Planet Cup” youth basketball game in Baoshan District in 2020, and the 2021 summer saber fencing training program for the Shanghai Youth Fencing Women’s Team.

The location of Leye Loft Creative Center, once home to the warehouse of Jiangyang Brigade, as well as bulldozer accessory and mining machinery factories, has undergone a remarkable transformation amidst Baoshan’s urbanization. Evolving into a vibrant creative hub, the area now integrates culture, sports, scientific innovation, and educational services. This revitalized space offers citizens venues for entertainment and creative pursuits. 

Beyond serving as a “neighborhood center” for nearby residents to engage in sports, leisure activities, and explore new sports technologies, it also features serene office spaces for businesses. Thoughtful design separates active areas from offices while incorporating green elements throughout. Additionally, some park buildings are equipped with solar photovoltaic power generation facilities, contributing significantly to reducing electricity costs for tenants.
