Northern Transformation-Volunteer Activities: Baoshan carries out activities to carry forward the Lei Feng spirit
In order to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping’s important instructions on learning Lei Feng activities and vigorously carry forward the volunteer spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress”, on the afternoon of March 3, 2024, Baoshan District March 5 Carrying Forward Lei Feng Spirit Volunteer Service Theme Activity, the Baoshan Communist Youth League Carrying Forward Lei Feng Spirit Volunteer Service Activity was launched in Baoshan Riverside New Era Civilization Practice Park, calling on the Youth League members with voluntary actions to promote the construction of “one location and two districts”.
This activity is sponsored by Baoshan District Civilization Office, Communist Youth League Committee, Greening and City Appearance Bureau, Public Security Bureau, Education Bureau, Youth Federation, Students Federation, Youth Working Committee, New Era Civilization Practice Center, and Youth Volunteers Association, and undertaken by Youyi Road Community. At the event, the director of Baoshan Youth Volunteers Association issued an initiative to the majority of young people for joint actions: looking for and striving to be “valuable youngsters”!
The Propaganda Department of CPC Baoshan District Committee, the Communist Youth League Committee, and Shanghai Wusongkou Wenlv Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. launched the recruitment of “Cherry Blossoms at Sea” and “Youth Promotion Officers” in Baoshan Youth Development City. The talents will dedicate enthusiasm and contribute wisdom, spread the beauty of Baoshan, cruise ships, and cherry blossoms on various platforms in the form of pictures, videos, and other forms from the unique perspective of young people, and create a new era modernization transformation example of Baoshan with youth power.
In this recruitment activity, the Youth League Committees of 10 colleges and universities including Fudan University, Jiaotong University, Tongji University, China Normal University, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences set up the first batch of youth promotion officers to help the youth development-oriented city build an alliance of colleges and universities, providing more resources and support for the “youth promotion officers” to tell the story of Baoshan well, and cultivating, reserving, and transporting more different youth volunteer service forces for Baoshan.
The executive director of the Cultural Media Company, the reporter of Jiefang Daily, the founder of the local We Media, the senior manager of the Public Affairs Department of bilibili, the network anchor of Weimeng Marketing Brand Growth Center, and photographers were hired as the “first batch of youth promotion officers”, and made a joint declaration: Baoshan’s “treasures” are waiting for you to find them. During the Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival, they will promote Baoshan with various forms of artistic creation.
Awards were given to advanced typical representatives of volunteer service in Shanghai and Baoshan, and four representatives of “valuable youngsters” gave TED speeches, and certificates were awarded to Baoshan Youth Volunteer Service Public Welfare Partners.
Also awarded was the “Feng” captain for the “valuable youngsters” to help the “Four Districts” build volunteer service; a flag was granted to the representatives of the volunteer service team facilitating “15-minute community life circle”.
In recent years, Baoshan District has continuously promoted a dense network of civilized practice, forming a three-level full coverage position of districts, towns, and residential villages as well as 169 civilized practice bases. Representatives of civilized practice bases in the new era of the district were awarded licenses on the spot.
With a gong sounding at the scene, the Binjiang Youth Volunteer Public Welfare Market officially opened. Volunteer service teams from Baoshan District’s league organizations and regional league building alliance units have 30 booths focused on the four major themes of green and low carbon, publicity and promotion, convenience service and charity sale. The event site was crowded, and various booths were very popular. Public welfare services such as legal consultation, first aid teaching, and rehabilitation sports guidance were deeply favored by middle-aged and elderly people; while interactive games and charity sale stalls attracted many young people. The event enjoyed a wide audience, rich product display, and proper publicity and promotion, which effectively enhances the people’s sense of acquisition, happiness, and security, promotes the new trend of voluntary service, and cultivates foundation of civilization and harmony. Ding Huitong, a volunteer of the Youth Volunteer Service Team of One River and One River, told the reporter, “I hope everyone can spend a little time paying attention to the needed in the society. Similar to our emergency rescue, we may not always need too much professionalism especially when there are serious dangers. You can help others with time and enthusiasm.”
Next, Baoshan District will take the opportunity of carrying forward the Lei Feng spirit, and further guide the majority of young people to strive to be inherit the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, the practitioners of socialist ethics and the leaders of new civilization through various thematic publicity and volunteer service activities, so as to integrate the activities of learning from Lei Feng into daily life and turn it into a regular one, and make the Lei Feng spirit shine more brightly in the new era!
