Recently, the MUSE Design Awards, an international renowned competition, announced the list of winners in 2023. The Shanghai Future Office Park (hereinafter referred to as “the Park”) won the Platinum Award, the highest award in architectural design defeating thousands of excellent competitors from around the world with its unique design.

The MUSE Design Awards, created in 2015, is jointly hosted by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) and the International Awards Associate (IAA). Known as the “Oscar in global design circles”, it is one of the most influential international awards that encourages creativity, aiming to honor artists and designers who have excelled in creativity and design with regard to various fields, such as architecture, interior, product, lighting, packaging and fashion design. The awards are divided into Platinum Award, Gold Award and Silver Award.

The Park is jointly built by Shanghai Jinqiao Export Processing Zone Development Co., Ltd. (Golden Bridge) and Shanghai Baoshan High-tech Industrial Park. The conception of “ridge” and “valley” is integrated into the spatial design of the Park. Like the “ridges”, high and large buildings are lined along the roads to insulate the Park from the noise and other pollution, while the small buildings in the center serve as the “valley” with human-centered, comfortable and detailed design. Together with the central green corridor (“quiet valley”), open space and small squares, these buildings provide people with a very different feeling with a shared ring road reaching all parts of the “valley”.

There are 28 buildings in the Park, each of which feature a unique appearance. They serve as detached offices, headquarter offices and R&D centers, thus meeting varied needs of enterprises. This uniqueness helps highlight the characteristics of the enterprises and improve their competitiveness. The multi-level landscape and a variety of creative functional areas jointly create a colorful and lively space, attracting diversified activities and bringing a strong sense of belonging to the office staff in the Park. ‍

The philosophy of embracing the future is adopted in the design of the Park to build an open, friendly, diversified and human-centred industrial park that encourages creativity, and attract top enterprises, famous institutions and outstanding talents to settle in, thus boosting the development of its neighboring area. It aims to be a model science park to inject vitality into Shanghai Baoshan High-tech Industrial Park.
