On the afternoon of August 31st, Chen Jie, Chief of the CPC Baoshan District Committee, visited Xingzhi High School and Wusong High School to inspect the preparations for the new semester. Chen Xiaojie, Vice Mayor of the District, participated in the investigation.

Shanghai Xingzhi High School is among the first batch of 28 experimental demonstration high schools in Shanghai. The school covers an area of 134 mu (8.93 hectares) and has 28 classes with 1125 students and 132 faculty members. The school taps into the theoretical connotations of Mr. Tao Xingzhi's "true person education", "life education", and "creative education", and gradually formed the school-running philosophy of "unity of action and knowledge, understanding, and creation". In Xingzhi High School, Chen Jie listened to the introduction of epidemic prevention and control work, and came to the school library to learn about the utilization of the library. Xingzhi High School lays emphasis on the unity of students' theory and practice, thought, and behavior, and strives to cultivate students' ability to solve problems with knowledge. Chen Jie had a detailed understanding of the school-running characteristics and looked at the school's practical education projects.

Chen Jie affirmed the school's practice of guiding students into life and society and gaining true knowledge in practice. Chen Jie pointed out that Xingzhi High School, directed by Tao Xingzhi's educational philosophy, lived up to its mission and the word "Xingzhi", setting an example of Baoshan education. Tao Xingzhi's educational idea of "combining teaching, learning, and practice" shines with the brilliance of educational thought, which plays a strong guiding role in cultivating talents in socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics. It is necessary to deeply practice Tao Xingzhi's educational idea, practice the "Double New" reform, develop Tao Xingzhi's educational thought, and solidly promote the construction of "Tao Xingzhi's educational innovation and development zone". It is necessary to constantly optimize the training of teachers, learn from Tao Xingzhi, enhance teachers' morality, carry forward the essence of Tao Xingzhi's education, and cultivate excellent teachers. It is necessary to focus on eight main tasks, comprehensively improve the quality of school operation, further strengthen the inheritance and innovation of Tao Xingzhi's educational thoughts, and realize the sustainable development of school characteristics.

Wusong High School, located at Wusong Estuary of the Yangtze River, continues the school-running context of Wusong High School affiliated to China Public School founded in 1906. It is an experimental and exemplary high school in Shanghai with profound historical background, covering an area of 66 mu (4.4 hectares), with 122 teachers, 30 classes, and more than 1,100 students. Adhering to the educational reform spirit of Dalton's "Freedom, Cooperation and Plan", the school has constructed a "Dalton Curriculum System" to care for students' healthy and happy growth. In Wusong High School, Chen Jie learned about "Dalton Curriculum Operation Mode" and visited humanities and sci-tech innovation laboratories such as "Dalton Workshop" and "Guanlan Academy". Chen Jie also visited the History Museum of Wusong High School to learn about the development of Wusong High School.

Chen Jie pointed out that education is an important support to help upgrade city soft power, and sci-tech innovation is becoming a driving force for Baoshan to build a main position of sci-tech innovation center.
