The 2021 Signing Ceremony of Major Industrial Projects in Baoshan was held in the Boill E Wisdom Valley. There were 100 contracted projects with a total investment of over 50 billion yuan. 46 of them were signed at the ceremony, including 31 industrial projects with a total investment of 30 billion yuan and 15 sci-tech incubation projects with the R&D investment exceeding 2 billion yuan.

Most enterprises signed agreements at the ceremony are high-tech enterprises which play a crucial role in promoting Baoshan to build itself as the main front of making Shanghai into a science and technology innovation center. Projects of the five leading industries including biomedicine, advanced materials, robotics, intelligent manufacturing, and new-generation IT dominantly accounted for 68%. The development of secondary transformation and focus of industrial parks on key development areas such as “headquarter economy, big data, and intelligent manufacturing” help accelerate industrial agglomeration. Sci-tech innovation and incubation projects are mainly from the fields of "medical appliance, new material, and high-end manufacturing" and participated by top domestic and foreign scientific research teams working together for brainstorm.

There are six contracted biomedicine projects with a total investment of 4.05 billion yuan, covering the fields of biological vaccine, stem cell, innovative medicine, beauty clinic, and etc. These projects are designed with the vision of pursuing people's health and aim to create better life with sci-tech innovation.

The four contracted advanced material projects with a total investment of 1.3 billion yuan are from the fields of new construction material, new nano material, new carbon fiber material, and specialty gas. Enterprises in these fields have implemented cutting-edge technical standards, improving the international competitiveness of new material industry.

The seven contracted robotics and intelligent manufacturing projects will be invested with 3.05 billion yuan and covers the fields of robot reducer, machine vision, and artificial intelligence research and development. Since robots are extensively applied in many fields, the robot industry will become a highlight of intelligent life in the future.

There are four new-generation IT projects with a total investment of 3.2 billion yuan. These projects cover multiple emerging industries such as online new economy, big data, and Internet headquarter. These new industries will be empowered by digitalization. The economy will be developed in an intensive and more efficient way.

There are seven projects of secondary transformation and development with a total investment of 7.01 billion yuan, mainly from the fields of "headquarter economy, big data, and intelligent manufacturing".

Three industrial park projects include Lingang Nanda Smart City, core block of Shanghai Industrial Park of Robotics, and Baoshan Robot Innovation Hub of Liando U Valley Baoshan Robot, first launched in Nanda Sci-Tech Innovation Center.

There are 16 sci-tech innovation and incubation projects among which five are biomedicine ones, mainly focusing on the research and development of medical appliance innovation and incubation and innovative medicine development.

Five projects are of robotics and intelligent manufacturing fields ranging from Jinghai unmanned surface vehicles and millimeter-wave radar to mass spectrometer and automatic guided vehicles, all of which belong to the cutting-edge scientific innovation field.

There are five projects are of new material and sci-tech service industry, three of which are projects focusing on new materials such as titanium alloys, waterproofing, functional mesoporous, and semiconductors. Two of them focus on entrepreneurship parks and sci-tech services. 

The centralized signing ceremony of major industrial projects of Baoshan District is a new starting pointing and new journey for the district to conduct in-depth cooperation with the contracted enterprises in a broader scope, writing a new chapter of Baoshan’s development. In the future, the district will continue to optimize the business environment, stay in a positive status, and endeavor to contribute to the sustainable development of enterprises.
