In order to promote the Covid-19 vaccination program in Baoshan District in a smooth, orderly, and efficient way and provide better vaccination service for the public, Communist Youth League Committee of Baoshan District has recruited volunteers among members of the Communist Youth League and young people since December 15 of last year.       

After the recruitment notice was released, it was actively responded by volunteers in the society among whom 300 were recruited. Meanwhile, the recruitment was supported by Shanghai Jiguang Polytechnic College where students applied for and formed a young volunteer team (named “Green Leaf”) consisting of 100 students.  

Young volunteers provide full-day services for vaccination such as taking temperature and checking health QR code of people who come to vaccine, controlling the number of people at the vaccination site, leading people to the pre-check area, patrolling in the vaccinating area, and reminding people in the observation area. Collaborated with full-time workers there, volunteers have provided professional and efficient services, creating a harmonious and safe environment for the vaccination program.

Volunteer Jin said, “I’m honored to be a volunteer for the vaccination. As a member of the society, I have an obligation to do what I can for it. Doing such things also makes me more capable. My friends ask me to protect myself and remind me that I’m not alone and I have families to take care of. But I want to say that even if I do not do such things others will do. I want to do as much as I can when I’m young. Let’s do it and never give up before the end of the pandemic.”

Volunteer Song said, “I have been moved since I work as a volunteer. What impresses me most is that people who come to vaccine follow our instructions and behave in an orderly way, which makes the volunteering work much easy. The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose. When people express their gratitude to us on the vaccination site, I feel warm and have a sense of success.”

The vaccination work continues. We appreciate that every young volunteer is passionate to serve the people and silently makes contributions.
