The phase I project of JD e-commerce operation demonstration base is a major project introduced by Baoshan in recent years.

The grounding ceremony of the phase I project was held in Luojing Town on the morning of May 21, which adds a luster to the key project construction of Baoshan.

The phase I project is a major project introduced by Baoshan in recent years. Baoshan and JD Com. signed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation in Beijing in May 2019, to co-promote the new development of digital economy and intelligent manufacturing of Baoshan.

JD will give full play to its technical advantages in e-commerce, intelligent logistics, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, robot and other fields, set up its 2nd R&D Center in Baoshan, invest in Luojing Town to build a first-class JD-Baoshan E-commerce Operation Demonstration Base to promote the industry transformation and sci-tech innovation of Baoshan, and help build Baoshan into a gathering place of the development of Shanghai’s modern service industry and an important bearing area of advanced manufacturing industry.

Further more, the Group aims to make a significant contribution to economic construction of Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta with the help of JD Mall's substantial customer base and efficient platform for sales and logistics.

The project was officially delisted in this April and was approved with construction permit on April 29 through the support of Baoshan’s officials and related departments.

Besides, the project covers an area of 117 mu and a total construction area of 65,000 square meters. Based on modern information technology and featured with multi-modal transport, the project intends to build a modern, systematic, ecological and intelligent e-commerce operation base with the functions including distribution of goods and materials, intelligent warehousing, multi-modal transport, urban distribution, information processing and supporting services. Moreover, the project involves a total investment of about RMB360 million, and it is expected to reach RMB6 billion in terms of the annual sales revenue.
