Introduction to the Kindergarten Directly Affiliated to Baoshan District, Shanghai

Founded in 1981, the Kindergarten Directly Affiliated to Baoshan District has a history of 40 years. In 2004, through institutional reform, it was transferred from the Bureau of District Government Offices to the District Education Bureau. At the end of 2007, Jiang Jing, a teacher of special grade, served as the principal. Under her leadership, the kindergarten has developed rapidly and achieved remarkable results. In 2010, the kindergarten built its second campus. The environment of the kindergarten has been constantly updated with the change of its educational concept. In November 2012, it successfully passed the evaluation of first-class kindergartens in Shanghai. From 2012 to 2019, the kindergarten has made great strides in its development and perfection. In June 2017, it completed the re-inspection of Shanghai first-class kindergarten, and was successfully promoted to Baoshan District model kindergarten, which accelerated the further development of the kindergarten. In August 2019, in order to meet the regional demand for high-quality preschool education, the former Mishan campus with daycare and primary classes was demolished and merged, and the Changtan campus was newly built in a different place, which gave the kindergarten new development opportunities. 2020 is an extraordinary year, and it is also a year for the kindergarten to seek opportunities and innovate bravely in the crisis. Combining with the advantages of network information platform, the kindergarten has conducted in-depth research on the preschool education, safety education, and the parent-child activities of “son and father”, which fully meets the needs of children’s all-round and personalized development, and sows the seeds of “truth, goodness and beauty” in every child’s heart. Many characteristic brand projects of the kindergarten have certain influence in the whole city and even the whole country.

Adhering to the concept of “teachers teach happily and students grow happily”, the kindergarten strives to build “a kindergarten with stories”, and cultivates groups of healthy, lively, well-communicated and expressive children. The development of the kindergarten also promotes the rapid growth of teachers themselves. In recent years, the kindergarten has sent a large number of young officials to Baoshan District. Groups of energetic young teachers are also growing all the time, and the kindergarten has become a cradle of promoting teachers’ professional growth.
