Little Swan Kindergarten is a model public kindergarten in Shanghai, and its two campuses are located in Nandong Road and Luoying Road of Luodian Town respectively. There are 30 classes in total: 10 primary classes, 10 middle classes and 10 senior classes, with a total of 938 children currently.

Through practice, Little Swan Kindergarten has put forward the concept of “enlightening children in life and making them shine in personal experience”. Moreover, it has also implemented the kindergarten concept into its daily work, and the connotation of the concept has been rooted in the hearts of teachers and parents. The kindergarten has established the development goal of “loving life, being good at exploring, being willing to share, being independent and confident, and having a sense of confidence in traditional culture” for children. It uses the new “little teacher system” in the implementation of basic courses and characteristic courses to help children form civilized and healthy life attitudes and habits, so as to promote the cultivation of children’s pro-social behavior, stimulate their autonomy and confidence in learning, and enhance their confidence in traditional festival culture.

Based on the regional characteristics and the needs of children’s development, Little Swan Kindergarten has carried out a research on the subject of characteristic education of traditional festival culture. And taking this as the goal, it has achieved fruitful results through unremitting efforts. Many research achievements of traditional culture have won awards at municipal and district levels. The kindergarten has created its own characteristics, making traditional festival culture education a resounding signboard of Little Swan Kindergarten.

Little Swan Kindergarten has been awarded honors such as Shanghai Civilized Unit, Shanghai Safe and Civilized School, Shanghai Women’s Civilization Kong, Shanghai Learning-oriented Enterprises and Public Institutions, Shanghai Model School of Private Education and Baoshan District Teacher Development Model School. It is a research base for family education guidance in Shanghai during the 13th Five-Year Plan and 14th Five-Year Plan, a standardized training base for trainee teachers in Baoshan District, a connotation development base in Baoshan District, and a research base for Tao Xingzhi’s ideology in Baoshan District.
