Introduction to the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University

The High School Affiliated to Shanghai University was founded in 2003, covering an area of 210 mu, with a construction area of more than 70000 square meters. At present, the school has 38 teaching classes with more than 1400 students, including nearly 300 Xinjiang students and more than 160 teaching staff.

The school has a good school spirit, teaching style and study style. It has been successively rated as one of the Top Ten Innovative Schools in China, one of the Top 100 Characteristic Schools in China, the National Advanced Unit of Classroom Education, the Vice President Unit of the National School Mental Health Education Committee, the National Demonstration Unit of Conservation Oriented Public Institutions, the National Energy Efficiency Leader of Public Institutions, the Experimental Base of Key Projects of the Ministry of Education, the Civilized Unit of Shanghai City, Shanghai Science Education Advanced School, Shanghai Behavior Standard Demonstration School, Shanghai Teachers' Professional Development School, Shanghai Drama School, etc.

The school takes "Everyone Can Be Gifted" as the educational concept, "Virtues and Horizons" as its motto, "Innovation, Enterprising, Harmony and Happiness" as its school running ideology, and "Learn to Be, and Learn to Study" as its educational goal. Qian Weichang, a famous scientist, educator and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, former president of Shanghai University, was the first honorary president of our university. Qian wrote the name of the school in 2003 when he set up the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University, and in 2004 he wrote "Open up, Innovate and Cultivate talents".

The school respects students' personality and exploits their potential. It has set up an innovation activity center and an art activity center of more than 4000 square meters. It cooperates with colleges and universities to set up characteristic courses and formulate a cascade training program for gifted students. The research of gifted students training project was approved by the Ministry of education.

The school has strengthened international education and teaching exchanges, actively promoted the development and practice of international courses, and successively carried out exchanges with high-quality high schools in the United States, Canada, Germany, Sweden and other countries, so as to cultivate contemporary high school students with international vision.
