Baoshan Temple is located in Luodian Town. Its history can be traced back to the Reign of Zhengde and Jiajing during the Ming Dynasty. It was converted from a private residence (formerly known as "Jade Palace") of Tang family, a local elite family. Ever since the temple was built 500 years ago, it has been shrouded in the scent of burning incenses. The temple has undergone many major repairs and the current one is rebuilt on the same site.

Baoshan Temple was rebuilt in accordance with the "Method of Construction", an architecture book by Li Jie in Song Dynasty (960-1279), and its construction process adopted the traditional wood structure construction techniques of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and Song Dynasty. In the process, the construction workers used traditional tools and followed traditional craftsmanship in a meticulous and earnest way for large woodwork, small woodwork, masonry and stone work. Baoshan Temple rendered the splendid Tang and Song styles of the 9th and 10th centuries in China with simplistic architectural language, demonstrating the essence of Chinese traditional architectural philosophy in full.
