Notice

Gucun Park carries out regular pandemic prevention and control measures. Tourists are required to book and purchase timed tickets with real names through the “Baoshanhui” App. Discounted or free tickets are offered to multiple groups of people, including students and the elderly, and those enjoying discounted or free tickets are required to show their ID cards or other valid certificates.

Tourists can choose to enter the park through Gates No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3 where they will be checked for mask-wearing, body temperature, and “Shanghai QR Code” for travel records. Those with a body temperature above 37.3℃ will be informed to go to fever clinics for a further check.

After entering the park, tourists should maintain civilized behaviors and continue to follow pandemic prevention and control measures, including wearing a mask and keeping a safe distance from others. For more information, please call 6045199, 36621019, 56045098.

Tickets

Adult ticket: 20 yuan/person
Student ticket: 10 yuan/person (valid student card is required)
Ticket for those aged 60–64: 16 yuan/person
The ticket is free for those aged 65 and above, soldiers, the disabled, and medical personnel.

Travel Reminder

Traffic around Gucun Park is expected to be busy during the Cherry Blossom Festival. Tourists are advised to follow the guidance of traffic police officers, helping create an orderly and safe transportation environment.

Public Transport

1. Subway

Tourists can take Metro Line 7 and Line 15 to Gucun Park. Gucun Park Station has six exits in total. Five of them are close to Gucun Park Gate No. 2; Exits 1–2 are close to the North Courtyard of Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University; Exit 6 is close to the shopping mall “Greenland-CP Being Fun”; Exit 3 is located on the east side of Jingpohu Road and Qilianshan Road; Exit 5, located on the west side of Jingpohu Road and Qilianshan Road, is closest to Gate No. 2 of Gucun Park. Tourists are advised to take Exit 5, so as to avoid waiting for the traffic light on Jingpohu Road.

2. Buses

Baoshan has expanded bus routes in recent years, linking suburban areas with downtown and providing easy access to suburban parks for residents. Tourists can take Bus 963 and Bus 528 to Gucun Park Gate No. 1 on Hutai Road, and Baoshan Bus 29 and Bus 1605 to Gate No. 2 on Jinghupo Road and Baoju Road.

Self-driving

1. Routes

Self-drivers can take North-South Elevated Road and Yixian Elevated Road and then exit from S20 Hutai Road to Gucun Park, or exit from Baoan Road of Huchong Expressway to Gucun Park Gate No. 3 on Yanglian Road. A new route is offered this year: self-drivers can take Qilianshan Road Underpass to Gates No. 2 and No.3 on Jingpohu Road. It should be noted that Qilianshan Road Underpass is not allowed for pedestrians or non-motor vehicles.

2. Parking Space

7,056 parking spots have been prepared for tourists. Among the 7,056 parking spots, 1,926 are within Gucun Park, including 666 near Gate No. 1 and 1,260 near Gate No. 3; 2,030 are outside Gucun Park, including 1,030 at Greenland-CP Being Fun and 1,000 at Huashan Hospital. If all these parking spots are occupied, some 2,600 parking spots along Lianyang Road, Julian Road, Jutai Road, and Baoju Road will be open to tourists. By that time, self-drivers need to follow the guidance of traffic police officers.

About Cherry Blossom Varieties in Gucun Park

Currently, Prunus campanulata is in full bloom, with pink petals adding a romantic sense to the park; Prunus × kanzakura cv. Kawazu-zakura is at its best viewing time; Prunus campanulata along Meiren Road and in Fuying Forest is at its early stage of blossom; the buds of Prunus lannesiana Tairyo-zakura is about to burst; Prunus × yedoensis, which has the largest coverage in the park, is expected to blossom in late March when the whole park will become a sea of cherry blossoms.

Gucun Park has over 1,500 mu (about 1,000,000 m2) land for cherry blossom planting, with 110 varieties, totaling over 16,000 cherry blossom trees. It ranks No. 1 in Shanghai no matter by the planting size, the number of varieties or the number of cherry blossom trees. After years of efforts, Gucun Park has created diverse views for tourists: cherry blossom-decorated Yingbin Avenue leads tourists to Meiying Forest, Yinghua Forest, Yinghua Garden, Chuiying Forest, Yinghua Plaza, Youyi Forest, Yingchun Forest, Zaoying Forest, and Cherry Blossom Varieties Garden; tourists can also enjoy cherry blossom views with traditional cultural elements at Songyue Forest, Yangguang Forest and Lanlan Plaza; this year, a number of premium cherry blossom varieties have been planted along Shuguang Road and in Yinzhi Forest, creating a new beauty together with landscape stones.

Seven Themed Events

1. “A gathering of talents”

An event for talent policy communication

To further promote talents-driven development and create a talent-friendly environment, Baoshan will introduce its talent policies and services during the Cherry Blossom Festival, in an effort to attract more talents to Baoshan; it will also organize cherry blossom viewing activities for sci-tech talents and students with the help of Baoshan University Talent Affairs Alliance.

2. “A scientific view into cherry blossom”

An event for demonstrating outcomes of sci-tech ecosystem building

Baoshan plans to organize cherry blossom viewing activities for academicians and experts, hold overseas talent academic forums, stage scientific knowledge communication fairs and sci-tech project roadshows to demonstrate relevant outcomes. In addition, Baoshan will call for short videos on scientific knowledge about cherry blossoms and hold relevant lectures, providing a scientific view into cherry blossoms.

3. “Online cherry blossom viewing”

An event for the integration of diverse media channels

As part of the efforts to promote the integrated regional development of the Yangtze River Delta, Baoshan will join Shanghai Province-level Media Technical Platform to hold live streaming activities, allowing netizens to enjoy cherry blossoms in Shanghai and surrounding regions online; Baoshan Media Platform will continue to launch its own live-streaming events and conduct online and offline interactions.

4. “Cherry blossom art and culture”

An event on culture and tourism

On the event of the 10th anniversary of the Shanghai Citizens Art Festival, Baoshan will hold a cherry blossom-themed fashion show, exhibitions of paintings and calligraphy, “one wall art gallery”, a mini-tour of fine arts, and other cultural and tourism events, in an effort to explore the cultural meaning of cherry blossom viewing and appreciate Chinese aesthetics. Such activities allow citizens to see what Baoshan has achieved so far in building itself into an open, ecological and happy city with strong sci-tech power.

5. “Cherry blossoming for you”

A sports event

Baoshan will hold a women’s 10km race both online and offline, bringing a stronger sense of gain, happiness and belongingness to citizens and helping enhance the soft power of Baoshan.

6. “Lack for nothing”

An event for commercial marketing

To comprehensively promote the building of Shanghai into an international consumption city and publicize the brand of “Shanghai shopping”, entities engaged in business, tourism, culture and sports will be mobilized to launch special themed activities to boost consumption. Baoshan will mobilize business areas long Metro Line 7 to promote both online and offline consumption, giving a warm-up to the upcoming 3rd “Double 5 Shopping Festival” and further publicizing Baoshan as a good choice for living, traveling and shopping.

7. “Signal of spring”

2022 Cherry Blossom Festival Photography Competition

The competition will select the photographic works that best present the beauty of cherry blossom and people’s loving for cherry blossom. Winning works will be published on the official website of the Cherry Blossom Festival and the Wechat account of Gucun Park.

Five supporting events

Food & beverage

During the Cherry Blossom Festival, Gucun Park will partner with renowned catering brands to set up a gourmet street to provide hygienic and convenient food to tourists. Tourists can also choose Gucun Park Hotel, restaurants within the park, and Cherry Blossom BBQ Zone.

Entertainment

Having 215 BBQ stations of five types and capable of accommodating some 1,800 people at the same time, the Cherry Blossom BBQ Zone has become a great choice for team building, family gathering, and leisure moments. Children’s playground provides 14 choices of amusement, including a merry-go-round, bumper cars, flying chair rides, pirate ships, and Ferris wheels. Tourists can also play paintball, canoe, and take pleasure-boat to enjoy the times.

Nature exploration

Tourists can have a good look at over 1,000 rare birds at the Oriental Birds World, such as through the “Peacock Flies Southeast” show. The Oriental Birds World sets up different zones, including Birds Knowledge Library, Parrots World, Flamingo Bay and Ostrich Garden. Without any cages or nets, the World allows tourists to see birds in their natural state. The Dinosaur Park has the largest dinosaur model in Shanghai and showcases over 60 living scenes of dinosaurs, creating an immersive atmosphere for tourists. The Fossil Specimens Museum is free to all, where tourists can have a great look at different annual models and dinosaur fossils.

Shopping

During the Cherry Blossom Festival, a cherry blossom-themed fair will be held to present a variety of cultural and creative products. The Cherry Blossom Culture and Art Pavilion will also showcase over 30 cherry blossom-themed products, as a part of the brand-building efforts of Gucun Park.

Accommodation

Gucun Park Hotel is a great choice for spending holidays and holding business events and conferences. During the Cherry Blossom Festival, the hotel will offer discounted rooms and menus. Those who checked in can take an exclusive channel to Gucun Park. Floral Luxury Gucun Holiday Manor, a French-style hotel, is another choice for accommodation.
