Co-built by Baoshan District and Pudong New Area, Shanghai Future Office Park, which is located at No. 865, Xiaoyun Road and covers a nearly 7.4-square-kilometer area, was officially opened on September 20. To boost the district-district cooperation in brand as requested by Shanghai, the Park will be built into a new-type industry demonstration park with city-industry integration.

Lighting the plasma ball at the opening ceremony were Zhang Laiwu, former Deputy Sci-tech Minister and President of Six-sector Industry Research Institute of Fudan University, Zhu Xiaoming, former Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and Chief Adviser of the Park, Zhang Jianming, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Economic and Information Technology Commission, Chen Jie, Chief of the CPC District Committee, and Gao Yi, Deputy Chief of the CPC District Committee and Acting District Governor.

On the same day, the social practice base for Shanghai Institute of Ceramics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the innovation practice base for Six-sector Industry Research Institute of Fudan University, and the social practice base for School of Materials Science and Engineering of Tsinghua University were unveiled too, which were witnessed by Su Ping, Standing Member of the CPC District Committee and Deputy District Governor, and Chen Yaoshui, Deputy District Governor.

The experts and scholars from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tsinghua University, and relevant entrepreneurs gather at the first Yangtze River Delta (YRD) New Materials Sci-tech Industry Innovation Forum, to focus on key links and key areas in new materials sci-tech industry development by centering on the strategies for the YRD integrated development. Moreover, a platform for new materials sci-tech industry development is set up at the Forum, in order to form a layout of 3+X new materials industry in Shanghai, make a cluster of new materials industry development in Baoshan, and attract resource elements like talents, investment and technologies.

To complete the Park is to greatly promote the upgrading and innovation of regional industries, according to the head of the Park. Upon introducing innovative industries, the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries will be promoted, thus improving regional industrial development in north Baoshan.

By now, the Park has attracted many high-quality enterprises, including Shanghai headquarters of Lets Group as China's first listed construction research institution, Miss Fresh retail headquarters, intelligent supply chain center, and Shanghai Weijian Technology Co., Ltd. that is dedicated to AI construction robots, which involve such four kinds of headquarters economy as online economy, biomedical health, robot manufacturing, and new materials and new energy.

Furthermore, the Park, guided by future industries, will focus on high-tech industry cluster and emerging strategic industries, which covers new materials, new energy, robots, intelligent manufacturing, online economy and biomedicine and others.

At the same time, the Park will respond positively to the YRD integrated development and the national strategy of building Shanghai into a sci-tech center, take city-industry integration and sci-tech innovation as wings, and rely on the brand of Jinqiao and the resources in Baoshan, in a bid to make a cluster of sci-tech innovation firms and a highland of industry development.

In recent years, Baoshan has focused on industry transformation and upgrading, and vigorously promoted the construction of industry parks. As a new municipality-level industrial park, Baoshan Industrial Park was formally established in 2003 to adapt to the adjustment of overall industrial layout in Shanghai, and now it is an important base for emerging strategic industry in Shanghai and a functional practice zone for city-industry integration.

Up to now, Baoshan Industrial Park has formed about-7,200-mu industrial land, and started to implement nearly 100 industrial projects. With a total investment of nearly RMB25 billion, it has attracted arrays of leading firms, such as Carrier Air Conditioning Cooling System (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Huayu Auto Electrical System (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., HASCO MAGNA Electric Drive System Co., Ltd., Edscha Auto Parts (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Jinqiao North Suburb Industrial Park, CSSC Group, Shanghai Kelai Electromechanical Automatic Engineering Co., Ltd., Shanghai Future Hi-tech Co., Ltd., Gemdale Group, and Shanghai Liando U-valley Industry Park.

Around the industry layout of Baoshan and Shanghai, Baoshan Industrial Park now puts forward the "1 + 4" development path, namely, it will develop four sub-parks by centering on the brand of Shanghai north suburb. Shanghai Future Office Park opened today is one of the four sub-parks, and the other three are North Shanghai Biopharmaceutical Industry Park, New Energy Automobile Innovation Park and Shanghai International Cruise Industry Park.

Led by the leading firms like Shanghai Pharmaceutical Group, North Shanghai Biopharmaceutical Industry Park is a modern biomedical industry park with high-end biomedical manufacturing, high-end medical equipment production and high-end biomedicine logistics industry as the core, which integrates R&D, production, service and supporting facility.
