Lately, the first publishing ceremony of the picture-story book “Songhu Anti-Japanese War: Mill of Flesh and Blood” was held in the Shanghai Mass Art Museum.

During the “August 13th” Songhu Anti-Japanese War, the Chinese Army and the Japanese Invaders had a bloody fight in Luodian, the strategic area in Shanghai. This seesaw battle almost ran through the whole Shanghai Defense War and its intensity was not second to any war since the World War. And it has thus been reputed the “Mill of Flesh and Blood”.

To better remember the past and cherish the memory of our revolutionary martyrs, the Shanghai Songhu Memorial Hall for the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Shanghai City Animation Co., Ltd. and the Shanghai Picture-story Book Center jointly planned and published the picture-story book on “Songhu Anti-Japanese War” -- “Songhu Anti-Japanese War: Mill of Flesh and Blood” (Text by Yu Yang and Zhi Yao; Photo by Wang Xiaoqin). The shocking text and scenes and abundant details have represented the solemn and tragic history of the Luodian War and the stories of martyrs and shown the Chinese people’s patriotism in jointly fighting against invaders.

The “War Flame Times in Picture-story Books -- Picture-story Book Exhibition in Memory of the 75th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the Global War against Fascism” was unveiled in the Shanghai Mass Art Museum that day.

The Shanghai Songhu Memorial Hall for the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Shanghai City Animation Co., Ltd. and the Shanghai Picture-story Book Center jointly planned and launched the picture-story books on “Songhu Anti-Japanese War” -- the “August 13th Songhu Anti-Japanese War” and the “Songhu Hero Yao Ziqing”.

The Shanghai Songhu Memorial Hall for the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression will continue to inherit the Red genes, assume the mission of the times, and pass on the glorious history of the Chinese Army uniting all people to fight a bloody battle to all audience in a straightaway and popular manner.
